Pro Football Hall of Famer Steve Van Buren was the driving force behind their winning ways, capturing 4 NFL rushing titles between 1945-.1949. Other Eagle Hall of Famers include Chuck "Concrete Charlie" Bednarik, Alex Wojciechowicz, Norm Van Brocklin, Sonny Jurgensen, Tommy McDonald, and Reggie White.
